DANIEL LOPEZ - VIOLIN

Daniel Lopez

Daniel Lopez (B. Mus, M.Mus) is a freelance vioinist who performs with the Opera Australia Orchestra (Sydney), Queensland Symphony Orchestra (Brisbane), and Orchestra Victoria (Melbourne). He was concertmaster of the musical "Hamilton" for two years, and will return to the show for its Sydney season in 2024. Other shows he has performed in include Disney's "Beauty and The Beast", "West Side Story", "Miss Saigon" and "My Fair Lady". His talent from a young age enabled him to study with world renowned vioinists including Spiros Rantos, Edwin Paling, Gyorgy Pauk (Royal Academy of Music) and David Takeno (Guidhall School of Music and Drama). Dan also served for a time in the military and earned the rank of Seargeant. He now operates the Australian Session Orchestra together with his wife and musical partner Eleanor Streatfeild.

Eleanor Streatfeild - Cellist

Eleanor Streatfeild

Eleanor Streatfeild (B.Mus, GradCert) is a freelance cellist who performs with the Opera Australia Orchestra (Sydney) and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra (Brisbane). Recent musical theatre seasons have included "Mary Poppins" (Melbourne) and "Miss Saigon" (Sydney). A prodigious talent, she completed her music studies before turning her mind to postgraduate studies in linguistics and law. Eleanor began teaching the cello at the Newcastle Conservatiorum at the age of 19 and in addition to a busy performing schedule currently teaches at Cranbrook School in Sydney. She enjoys arranging music for string quartet, and has written many of the string arrangements in the SSQ library.
