DANIEL LOPEZ
Currently one of Australia’s most versatile and in-demand freelance violinists, Dan's undergradtue studies took him from Sydney Conservatorium to the University of Queensland, and then to the University of Tasmania where he was awarded a Vice Chancellor's scholarship and graduated on the Dean's list with Honours. He was awarded a further scholarship to study in London with both David Takeno at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and Gyorgy Pauk at the Royal Academy of Music.
Returning to Australia, he has since performed classically with some of Australia’s state orchestras including the Opera Australia Orchestra, the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, and Orchestra Victoria. He is a regular violinist in the musical theatre scene - most notably Hamilton in which he has been concertmaster since 2021. Other recent seasons have also included Beauty and The Beast, West Side Story, Dear Evan Hansen, and in 2025 - Guys & Dolls, and Annie.
His musical curiosity and aptitude have led him to tour as a solo violinist with artists such as Mirusia Lowerse, Sophie Hutchings, Ngulmiya, . As a session musician he can regularly be found in a studio working with recording artists, or recording for film and television. He regularly appears as guest concertmaster for commercial orchestras such as the Southern Cross Symphony, Newmarket Collective, George Ellis Orchestra and The Australian Session Orchestra.
Daniel has established a reputation as an orchestral fixer, largely as a result of his work with Sanctuary String Quartet. He assembles full orchestras around the country under the banner of Australian Session Orchestra most recently working with Laufey, Bill Bailey, The Zep Boys, Rumble Studios and Ralwen Productions.
He plays a modern violin made for him in 2018 by English violin maker Adele Beardsmore.

ELEANOR STREATFEILD
Eleanor is principal cellist and co-director of the Australian Session Orchestra, and founder of Sydney-based Radu Cello Ensemble.
Her cello studies began in Ethiopia where her family lived until 1994, but soon after moving back to Australia, she began lessons with Anthea Scott-Mitchell at the Newcastle Conservatorium in New South Wales. On a cello scholarship from the age of 13, Eleanor also benefited greatly from Hunter Strings, a youth orchestra initiative that put her on the path to her Bachelor of Music in Performance and 8 years of Australian Youth Orchestra programs, including tours to China and Europe. After her studies, Eleanor taught for four years at the New England Conservatorium of Music. During that time she did extensive regional touring, performing chamber music and collaborating with Australian composers and performers. She remains a passionate music educator and currently teaches cello at the Cranbrook School in Sydney.
Eleanor performs regularly with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and the Opera Australia Orchestra, and is a regular performer in the musical theatre scene; most recently "Mary Poppins" and "Miss Saigon". As a cellist and manager of Sanctuary String Quartet, she fostered long-term partnerships with 4MBS Classic FM and Brisbane City Council. Currently Eleanor’s activities are focused between Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
